John Howie Catering offers a diverse range of chef-designed specialty menus featuring the same local, sustainable hand-crafted cuisine enjoyed by our guests at Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar, John Howie Steak and Beardslee Public House.

Our chefs customize each menu to the unique needs and style of each event – ranging from intimate affairs to elegant, large-scale celebrations. We specialize in culturally influenced global cuisine with numerous options for every dietary preference and restriction.

To ensure highest quality and perfect presentation, all food is carefully prepared on site and, because we hand craft everything ourselves, the possibilities are endless.

We offer a variety of exclusive wines made especially for us, world-class signature beer made in our 10 barrel craft brewery at Beardslee Public House, and award-winning spirits made in our craft distillery, Wildwood Spirits Co. These high-quality beverages will impress even the most discerning aficionado and are another way to make your special occasion even more memorable. John Howie

Chef and Owner

John Howie is chef and proprietor of some of the Seattle Area’s most prominent restaurants. Recognized as a leading culinary vanguard in the Pacific Northwest, Howie was nominated Outstanding Restaurateur by the James Beard Foundation Awards in 2013.

Chef Howie’s restaurants, ranging from casual, honest cooking establishments to fine dining, are renowned for infusing innovation into evolving seasonal menus. Since opening his first establishment in March 2002, Chef Howie has insisted on partnering with only the best regional farmers and providers to serve his guests the highest quality, sustainable meat and seafood with fresh locally sourced produce and ingredients.

Wine Director and Partner

Erik Liedholm is John Howie Restaurant Group company wine director and partner. Erik, an Advanced Level Sommelier (Level III) whose wine lists have received numerous awards, has also been individually recognized as Sommelier of the Year by the Washington Wine Commission/Seattle Times and Seattle Magazine, the 2006 Walter Clore Award for outstanding achievement in the wine industry, and the 2014 winner of the International "Somm Slam" competition at the International Chefs Congress in New York. Erik was also the winner of the 2017 Double Gold New York World Wine & Spirits Competition award.

Erik is also co-owner and distiller of the award-winning Wildwood Spirits Co., which produces craft spirits using a farm to distillery approach in Bothell, Washington. The distillery’s Stark Vatten Vodka, Kur Gin and The Dark Door Bourbon have received numerous accolades, including Best in Show at the World Wine and Spirits Competition, Double Gold Medal in the 2018 San Francisco International Spirits Competition and recognition as a Top 10 Spirit of The Year from Wine & Spirits Magazine.
